Communication, Communication, Communication
Team effectiveness is achieved by maximizing communications on various levels ICM focuses on improving communication by using the three following learning models:
DISC - a tool for developing a better understanding of unique communication requirements by the different members of a work team whose behavioral styles are different.
CORE VAUES - a communication tool used for clearly establishing what the organization's core values are to be used for decision making and expected behaviours to achieve superiour results.
Stakeholder Cost Reporting (SCR) - a powerful data collection and reporting system for maximizing communication for all stakeholders by applying transparency and collaboration to achieve maximum returns.
DISC - Interpersonal Team Effectiveness
The Institute takes the position that every individual and team consists of exceptional talent to be explored and directed. This resourcefulness can be released through interpersonal connectedness and communications. What is presently more fully understood is that people are different in personality and behavioral styles and therefore require learned approaches to communicate uniquely with each other. Therefore the D.i.S.C system is applied to gain interpersonal, team effectiveness which increases the actual productivity of team performance. When teammembers learn to understand and work effectively with these behavioral differences as noted below in the chart, then the team will communicate effectively to pay attention to results (D), interaction/ideas (I), plans/work completion (S), and accuracy/rules/values (C).
Team Effectiveness based on D.i.S.C is presented on two levels:
Introductory Level
This one-day workshop teaches the fundamentals of the D.i.S.C model and process. Participants learn the value of interpersonal effectiveness and gain understanding of their own behavioral style and that of others different from them. They further learn how their style contributes to overall team effectiveness and how to adapt and complement to the styles of others. Since all teams require results, progressive ideas, workable plans and sound logic - this beginning workshop makes participants aware where they fit into a successful operation of a team.
Advanced Level
This one-day workshop teaches how the D.i.S.C model can be applied to effective management of the employee's workrole, especially for leadership and management positions. As leaders of other employees as well as teammembers across departments, participants will learn more in-depth 'people-reading skills', coaching others across different behavioral styles and leading meetings to maximize different behavioral style input. Emphasis is placed on strategies of innovation and decision-making, ensuring that team members show both respect and competency to communicate effectively with the different D.i.S.C combinations.
Core Values - Corporate Decision Making Process

Long-term corporate success has been proven by research to be directly linked to the application of corporate core-values successfully applied and monitored over time. When three to five core values have been selected and defined by Senior Management, upheld and applied by all staff, signed on by all network contractors - then companies can expect superior, consistent results over the long term. The company core values become 'the Board of Directors' undergirding all company business. This process requires both time and development and is offered in a consulting delivery style. SCR - Measuring and Reporting Progress
A more advanced and customized course of action for establishing stakeholder behaviour expectations, team processes and decision-making guidelines for stakeholders links Core Value Corporate Development to Stakeholder Cost Reporting. The ability to integrate the activities of all stakeholders for project management and the monetoring of expected outcomes is especially relevant to the success of:
start up companies looking to establish and implement policy and procedures before hiring new personnel.
mega projects where project managers need to bring various stakeholders from diverse backgrounds together quickly.
In these cases, stakeholder behaviour analysis and modfication, in addtion to utiliziation of a metrics tracking system are introduced on an intergrated basis to provide senior executives with a foundation for managing stakeholders, including but not limited to the following:
We need a system to support stakeholder collaboration and empower each stakeholder to be as efficient as possible. There are many systems available to do this however ICM's preference is SCR which adapts very well to any types or size of business, as well as fits flexibly to different cultures that require support for multiple languages, currency and cultural predispostions.
